Mould & Mildew Prevention
Definition:
Mould is a furry growth of minute fungi occurring typically in moist warm conditions. Mould and mildew problems are extremely common in Sydney houses or homes due to our humid climate.
Exposure to mouldy environments may cause a variety of health problems. Exposure to mould can lead to symptoms such as a stuffy nose, wheezing, itchy eyes, or irritated skin. Mould can also cause damage to your home and property, for example damaging leather shoes and handbags, curtains and carpets, and other soft furnishings.
The World Health Organisation recommends effective home ventilation to avoid excess humidity in the home and stagnant air in the home and prevent mould and mildew.
Solution:
Mould and mildew can be caused by several reasons including:
- Poorly ventilated sub-floor areas
- Poor airflow in the house (generally)
- Damp conditions
Simply removing the mould or mildew through scrubbing and the use of chemicals is not a long term solution. The underlying problem is highly likely to return after cleaning if the causes are not addressed. Mould and mildew prevention is the only long term solution.
Part of our mould solution is therefore to offer advice about mould removal while reducing the likelihood of its return by implementing a ventilation system.
Our service includes a thorough inspection of your house in Sydney, assessing your mould problems. We will attend your home and determine what or which individual or combination of technologies to use to remove and prevent the mould and mildew.
